BIBAL stands for the Berkeley Institute of Biblical Archaeology & Literature, a California religious non-profit entity incorporated under Section 501 (c) (3) of the State Business & Professional Code.

BIBAL Corporation funds and administers projects in biblical studies, archaeology, and the connection between the Bible and modern Anglo/American and civilian jurisprudence. It also publishes books in these fields.

BIBAL's current and ongoing projects include the following:

  1. Publication of scholarly works in biblical literature, languages, and archaeology, and assistance to those producing such works.
  2. Publication of popular works on the literature and background of the Bible and its use in the history of both Christianity and Judaism for clergy and lay leaders in individual or group study.
  3. Funding of teaching and research in the area of biblical languages and archaeological studies at all levels from elementary to advanced.
  4. Participation in the excavation of specific archaeological sites in the Bible lands on the part of both students and faculty of member institutions.
  5. Development of academic programs, particularly in areas of confluence in biblical studies and the legal profession.
